Ata Tara


Ata Tara is a Registered Landscape Architect (AILA) and Landscape Planner with additional qualifications in architecture. He has experience in regional to local landscape assessments, scenic quality evaluations, and design process to construction. He developed a foundation of skills and experience in Iran and Australia contributing to a diverse range of projects in preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Development Applications (DA) and Planning and Environment Appeals.

He has a particular interest in quantitative approaches to analyse different aspects of urban environments. He developed adaptive methods in landscape planning using modelling capabilities in CAD and GIS environments. He recently completed his Doctor of Philosophy for the thesis entitled: ‘Measuring Visual Attributes for Assessing Visual Conflicts in Urban Environments’ at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Ata is a part-time lecturer with part-time involvement in industry.
